Bulk Carrier

A bulk carrier is a vessel specially designed for the transportation of unpackaged, large-volume, homogeneous dry bulk cargo that can be directly loaded and unloaded. Cargo is stowed directly in the ship's holds without containers, pallets or other packaging, so as to improve handling efficiency and transport economy.

Main cargoes suitable for bulk carriers: dry bulk commodities such as coal, ores, grain, salt, chemical fertilizers and cement.

Breakbulk Vessel

A breakbulk vessel, also known as a general cargo ship, is specially designed to transport packaged, unitized, irregular-shaped cargoes that cannot be shipped in bulk or containerized. It is especially suitable for oversized, overwidth, overheight and overweight heavy-lift equipment.

Cargoes are handled in units, bundles, bags, drums, boxes or frames, mainly by crane for single or unitized lifting, instead of conveyors or grabs.

Main cargoes suitable for breakbulk shipping:Various machinery and equipment, vehicles, steel products, large structural components, bagged/drummed cargoes, various engineering materials and supplies, etc.

Ro-Ro Vessel

A Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) vessel is a type of ship designed for loading and unloading cargo by means of wheeled movement. Its interior resembles a multi-storey parking garage, allowing cargo to be driven directly on and off the ship via trailers, forklifts, or under its own power, eliminating the need for crane lifting and ensuring high loading and unloading efficiency.

Main cargoes suitable for ro-ro ships: It primarily transports wheeled cargo that can move on its own or be towed, including various passenger cars, commercial vehicles, construction machinery, agricultural machinery, trailers and semi-trailers. It can also carry large roll-on equipment and container trailers.

What is MAFI Trailer / Roll Trailer?

● A MAFI Trailer (Roll Trailer) is a heavy-duty, unpowered flatbed trailer specially used in Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) shipping. It is designed to carry over-weight, over-sized, irregular-shaped or high-value heavy cargo.

● As a standard solution for heavy-lift sea transportation, MAFI Trailers are purpose-built for Ro-Ro vessels. Featuring horizontal loading & unloading, high load capacity, high safety and high flexibility, they are the preferred choice for exporting over-weight and over-sized cargo such as wind power equipment, construction machinery and precision instruments.

● Shipping Operation Flow (Roll-on / Roll-off)

Loading: Cargo is secured directly onto the MAFI trailer (no crane lifting required).

Roll-on: The tractor tows the MAFI trailer horizontally onto the Ro-Ro vessel via the ramp.

Securing: The MAFI trailer is fixed in the hold or on the deck.

Discharging: Upon arrival at the destination port, the tractor tows the MAFI trailer off the vessel.
